Quickstart

Get from zero to your first validated trade document in 5 minutes.

Prerequisites​

  • A Klervex account (sign up)
  • A sample trade document (commercial invoice, purchase order, or similar)

Step 1: Sign Up​

  1. Go to app.klervex.com/register
  2. Enter your email and password
  3. Verify your email address
  4. A team is automatically created for you

Step 2: Upload a Document​

  1. From the dashboard, click New Shipment
  2. Drag and drop your document onto the upload zone (or click to browse)
  3. Supported formats: PDF, PNG, JPG, TIFF, Excel

Step 3: Review Extracted Data​

After uploading, AI extracts structured data from your document:

  • Parties — Exporter, importer, notify party
  • Route — Origin, destination, transport mode, ports, Incoterms
  • Goods — Line items with HS codes, quantities, values
  • Packaging — Package types, weights, dimensions

Each field shows a confidence score:

  • 🟢 High (90%+) — Likely correct, review quickly
  • 🟡 Medium (70-89%) — May need correction
  • 🔴 Low (below 70%) — Review carefully

Edit any field before proceeding.

Step 4: Validate​

Click Validate to run the shipment through business rules:

  • HS code exists in the destination country's tariff schedule
  • Required fields are present for the selected document types
  • Parties pass sanctions screening
  • Port codes are valid UN/LOCODE entries
  • Incoterms match the transport mode

If validation passes, you'll see a green checkmark. If it fails, each issue includes a specific error message and a "Fix" button to jump to the relevant field.

Step 5: Generate Documents​

  1. Select the document types to generate (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, etc.)
  2. Click Generate
  3. Each document is generated as a customs-grade PDF

Step 6: Download and Verify​

  • Download any generated document
  • Share a verification link — anyone can verify the document hasn't been tampered with
  • Email documents directly to recipients (coming soon)

Every document includes a SHA-256 hash for tamper-proof verification at klervex.com/verify.
